Announcing “The Art of Printmaking” Blog

Dear Friends,

Its been about six months since we formally started our Blog here at Breathing Color, and we have been overwhelmed by your response. Thanks to you, our weekly subscriber list has grown to nearly 7,000 printmakers worldwide. We have really appreciated the feedback, comments, tweets and facebook likes we have received from our readers. Thank you so much to all of you that have been reading our articles and interacting with the content.

The Art of Printmaking

It is with your feedback in mind that we are announcing the re-branding of our blog to The Art of Printmaking. A title we hope better focuses our mission and goals as we move forward. We strive to continue to provide the best tips, tricks, and techniques to help you hone your craft of printmaking. With so few sites out there on the web dedicated to the topic we hope ours can continue to mature and evolve into a valuable resource on the subject for both beginners and master craftsman alike.

Most business blogs out there tend to be company mouth pieces that simply tow the company line and flog the products. It’s no secret we are media manufacturer and have a vested interest in the space. Yet, we want the focus of The Art of Printmaking to be about the craft and not simply our products and why you should be using them. A professional blog dedicated to making you a better printmaker, a community where you can discuss printing and its nuances — to advance your craft, art, or business — regardless of which media you decide to use.

Printing is a complex process that takes both knowledge and ability. Transforming art or photograhy into a perfect print is an art and a science unto itself that is all too often overlooked in todays digital world of instant commercial printing. A science that we don’t pretend to have all the answers to. To that end we would love to incorporate your voice. Therefore, we have opened up the guest posting options for the blog and we go into detail on them here. We know many of you are experts in your own right and we would hope you would consider sharing your expertise. In return, you will gain some valuable links and targeted traffic to your business and/or website. So send us an informative article or a video, and we’ll consider posting it. Or, if you have some ideas, bounce some topics off of us and we’ll guide you in the right direction.

The Road forward

We promise to bring you more posts, more interviews with industry experts, more tech tips, and better content across the board. Our hope is to elevate the art and science of fine art printmaking and move us all closer to pulling the perfect print. Together, we can make it happen!
